Halloween sketches

So for my sketches i decided to design cute candy people to contrast to the horrific ideal that they eat humans on halloween.

Though i found them looking a little too much like adventure time i was quite content with this style.
But after checking out some of Mark Rydens stuff i decided to play with style and add some realistic features to see what i could create
I went back and tried to play around with some more designs but these wernt looking as good as the others.

It was at this point i was finally getting somwhere with one design, my marsh mellow man
It was when i redid him one more time did a new idea come into fruition
And here lies where i am now.
As much as i love the idea of creating cute adorable sweet people, i just couldn't do it right. I tried to make it look different but if i went realistic then it would lose its cute value and if i drew it cute than it would just look too cartoony and to be honest i can do better than that.

It was only when i was looking at burnt marshmellows did i finally realise what i could do for a concept.

I'm going to draw a marsh mellow boy with half his face burned dressed up for halloween at a trick or treating.

The thing is that the marsh mellow is actually a real boy, i'll probally put him with a bunch of normal looking children to emphisize this and maybe a reflective puddle as key points.

The idea behind this is that the child is soo horroficlly burned that he see's himself as a cute adorable marshmellow as a means of dealing with the situation.

More sketches of this and final thumbnails of my finished piece to work with this idea.
